Did You Know? Crickets are nature’s thermometer!

Crickets Chirp at Different Rates Based on Temperature: Nature's Thermometer

Did you know that crickets can help you estimate the temperature? It's true! Crickets chirp at different rates depending on how warm or cool it is outside. Here's a fun way to calculate the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit using their chirps.

Simply count how many chirps a cricket makes in 15 seconds, then add 37 to that number. The result is a surprisingly accurate estimate of the temperature! For example, if you hear 20 chirps in 15 seconds, adding 37 gives you 57°F.

Next time you're outdoors in the evening, try this natural trick and let the crickets be your thermometer!
