  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over low heat on the stove. Let it cool slightly.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.

  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and whisk until smooth.

  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the cricket flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using, into the brownie batter.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).

  10. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

  11. Serve and enjoy these nutritious and delicious Chocolate Cricket Brownies!
